August 12 - Raising Your Mower Blades

August 12 - Raising Your Mower Blades: Did you know that our lawn maintenance team lets your grass grow a little taller as the summer goes on? Raising mower decks for weekly lawn cuttings encourages dense, soft and deep-green yards. Taller blades of grass tolerate the lack of water and more sunshine we get in late summer in Northeast Ohio. Higher mower blades mean less stress on your turf. The shorter the lawn, the more difficult it is for your turf to thrive and thus more common for it to brown out. Consider cutting your Northeast Ohio landscape at a mower deck height of 2.75 - 3 inches for the rest of the summer.
