Nearly 400 Community Members and Pattie Group Clients Attend Annual Lighting Ceremony With nearly 400 people in attendance, The Pattie Group lit a near 100 foot Norway Spruce as well as the rest of the surrounding landscape at their corpcorate headquarters located at 15533 Chillicothe Road in Novelty on 12/4/2008. Those in attendance were treated to sleigh rides, cookies, hot cocoa, a visit from Santa Claus, and of course the lighting of the lights. The Pattie Group provided the tree, which is part of their existing landscape along with the lights and labor for putting the light strands together. Morningstar Tree Service (headquartered in Newbury, Ohio) provided the necessary equipment and tree climbing expertise to help string the lights in the large Spruce. The tree is lit with 7000 bulbs of green, blue, and red. It is also donned with a twinkling 30 pound star that contains 200 white mini lights. All totaled, it requires some 65,000 watts of power. "It is truly a site to behold", states Jonas Pattie, Director of Marketing for The Pattie Group. "We put a tremendous amount of time and effort into the display and the lighting party". In past years the stnning tree has been featured on Channel 3 news in Cleveland. "The tree is the largest decorated tree in the state as far as our research has been able to tell", says Brian Pattie, the Asst. Production Manager for The Pattie Group. "We have some 60 man hours in changing out the bulbs and getting the lights prepared to be strung on the tree and another 100 or so in actually stringing them.", he adds. "Morningstar Tree service does all of our major tree work throughout the year", says Jonas Pattie, "it was really great to collaborate on this with them, they are a great group of guys and watching them execute this semi-dangerous job is really incredible". In addition to the 100 foot tal spruce, there is a 40 ft tall Maple tree, eight 25 foot tall spruces, four 20 foot tall crabapples, and all the surrounding shrubbery and building structures decorated in lights. "It's a show stopper as you approach" says Brian Pattie. The lights will be on from December 4th through January 10th.
