Pattie Group Wins Four State-Wide Awards from Ohio Landscaping Association
At this year’s Landscape Ohio! awards banquet held at the Cleveland Botanical Garden, The Ohio Landscape Association (OLA) awarded Cleveland-based landscape design firm The Pattie Group with four state-wide awards for outstanding design and installation of residential landscapes in Northeastern Ohio. The association’s awards program showcases quality landscapes from firms throughout Ohio. The Pattie Group won the association’s highest mark of distinction, the Honor Award, in two separate categories for a “residential installation†of a landscape in Shaker Heights and in the “water features and lighting†category for a residence in Hunting Valley. The Pattie Group also received the association’s highly regarded Merit Award in two additional categories for a “residential installation†of a landscape in Gates Mills and in the “garden structures and pavement†category for a home in Hunting Valley. With each of The Pattie Group’s projects, the firm takes into account the clients’ needs, budgets, lifestyles, and stylistic preferences, as well as the home’s location, surroundings, architectural elements, current landscape elements (including trees), and curb appeal, putting to work a team of highly educated professionals to create the perfect outdoor living area. The seeds for The Pattie Group, Inc., were sown in the late 1960s when an entrepreneurial 13-year-old with a love of landscaping kicked off his career by mowing the lawns in his Cleveland Heights neighborhood. Today, Steve Pattie and his team have grown this once modest mowing enterprise into an impressive landscape-development company complete with both east- and west-side locations and a staff of nearly 100, including landscape architects, designers, horticulturists, project managers, carpenters, stone masons, and a full team of highly trained, state and nationally certified installation, irrigation, lighting and landscape management professionals. “My goal has always been to create a company which employs all the professionals necessary to design and install a truly breathtaking landscape, follow it up with world-class landscape care – and to do it better than anyone else,†Steve Pattie says. It is the consistent achievement of this goal that has helped The Pattie Group win numerous awards (and a state and national level) and acquire prestigious clients such as the Holden Arboretum, Cleveland Botanical Garden, and countless homeowners throughout northern Ohio ranging from intimate condominium gardens to multi-million dollar properties. As his company has grown, Steve Pattie’s philosophy has never wavered from the founding ideals he cultivated more than 30 years ago: “Hire the most talented and highly educated people, empower them to make the right decisions, and accept nothing less than their best.†This emphasis on nurturing a team of experts permeates every aspect of The Pattie Group. “Our people are the keys to our success,†says Jonas Pattie - the company’s Director of Project Development and part of the second generation of leadership. The Pattie Group encourages its employees to continually broaden their knowledge and expertise. “We employ the most educated and highly trained professionals in the area; most of them have college degrees, as well as a state or national certification in their area of landscape specialty,†Jonas states. The Pattie Group employs the highest percentage of State and nationally certified landscape professionals in the state. Most also have a college degree in a landscape or construction field. All are required to attain a minimum of 45 hours of continued education per year. Celebrating it’s 40th year in business The Pattie Group designs, installs, and maintains landscaping, water features, irrigation systems, and outdoor lighting for countless prestigious clients such as the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, the Holden Arboretum, and countless homes and businesses. |
